Srinagar, Sep 11: Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir Dr Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq on Friday left for New Delhi to participate in an interaction with President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr Masoud Pezeshkian, who is in the national capital to attend the BRICS Summit.
According to the Office of Mirwaiz, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq is attending the interaction on the invitation of the Iranian Ambassador to India, Dr Mohammad Fathali.
The interaction, scheduled to be held in New Delhi later today, will bring together religious leaders, intellectuals and other dignitaries.
The event is being hosted by the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to India and will be followed by a dinner reception.
The visit comes as Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian is in India for the BRICS Summit and engagements with Indian leadership.
