Srinagar, Sep 17: The Muslim Personal Law Board Jammu and Kashmir has urged Imams, Khateebs, religious scholars and community representatives to highlight the importance of unity, brotherhood, tolerance and mutual respect in Friday sermons.
In an appeal, Syed Mohammad Aslam Andrabi, Vice Chairman of the Muslim Personal Law Board J&K, said collective efforts were being made under the guidance of Mufti-e-Azam Jammu and Kashmir Nasir-ul-Islam Farooqi, Chairman of the Board, to bring different sections of the Muslim community onto a common platform.
He urged religious leaders to rise above sectarian and jurisprudential differences and strengthen bonds of brotherhood and harmony within the community.
Andrabi called upon Imams, Khateebs and preachers to give special emphasis to the message of Muslim unity, mutual respect and sectarian tolerance during Friday sermons.
He said the efforts were aimed at connecting hearts, reducing differences and ending mutual hostility within the community.
The Board stated that its objectives include serving the collective interests of the Muslim community, safeguarding Shariah and promoting unity and brotherhood among Muslims.
Andrabi said there was a need to raise a voice that “connects hearts, removes distances” and strengthens the Muslim community as a collective force.
